A Remarkable History
Built in 1910 by Prince Reza Khan Arfa Danesh, an Iranian diplomat, Villa Ispahan later became home to a museum of Iranian art and culture during the 1960s. The residence then housed art, sculpture and objets d’art from Iran. A collection associated with the villa was sold by Sotheby’s in Monte Carlo in 1983; this is part of its history, not a claim about its present interiors.
